College Preparation

this is content

If you are an adult with a high school credential who wants to succeed in college, we can help you to achieve that goal. With the support of an adviser, you will develop a plan to improve your academic skills and prepare for community college or university.

The College Transitions Program includes:

  • Skills assessment and testing

  • Financial aid, academic, and career advising

  • Classes to improve essential academic skills such as:

o   Applied Algebra A or B

o   Reading/Writing 200

o   ACCUPLACER Preparation (Reading & Grammar)

o   College Writing Workshop

o   Biology

o   Chemistry

o   Relevant computer courses

To be eligible for the program, you must have a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED/HiSET). You must also qualify to enroll in either of the upper levels of math and English (Algebra or Reading/Writing 200).

Schedule an appointment with the College Transitions adviser (Anja Hanson) by calling 874-8155.
